Riverside Inverclyde and Inverclyde Council recently successfully secured funding from the Scottish Government’s Town Centre Regeneration Fund to improve the appearance of the entrance to Greenock along Cathcart Street. The approved work entails shopfront and signage improvements and enhancements to the landscaping and signage at the A8 entrance. Work has already taken place stone cleaning the walls around the station and landscape work at the entrance will last a further four months. In order to screen the works during this period local school children have provided artwork for decorative panels to be placed around the site. These panels illustrate a horse, which will become a significant feature of the landscaped area on completion.
